About Us
A touchscreen test that respects your time and your privacy
Free Touchscreen Test is an independent, browser-based diagnostic tool. No install, no account, no data leaving your device.
Why we built this
Checking whether a touchscreen actually works shouldn't require downloading an app, creating an account, or sitting through ads before you can tap a single test target. Most of the "touchscreen test" apps and sites we found asked for one of those — so we built one that doesn't. Open the page, run the tests, get an answer.
What we do
We maintain a small suite of focused, browser-based tests — multi-touch tracking, gesture recognition, drawing, tap accuracy, dead-zone mapping, response latency, and scroll smoothness — that run entirely client-side using standard Touch Events and Pointer APIs. Every test reads directly from your device's hardware and browser; nothing is simulated, and nothing you touch is uploaded anywhere.
What we believe
- A diagnostic tool should work the same on the device you're worried about, right now, without a detour through an app store.
- Free should mean free — no paywalled tests, no artificial limits on how many times you can run a check.
- A tool that reads your screen's touch input has no business sending that data anywhere. See our Privacy Policy for specifics.
Who this is for
Anyone about to buy a used phone, checking a new device before the return window closes, diagnosing a cracked or unresponsive screen, or verifying a repair actually fixed the problem. The full suite works on iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets, touchscreen Windows laptops, and Chromebooks.
